Question Weight of ........

Has anyone ever weighed the wheel and tire? The other day while a friend was changing my brakes, the wheels and tires were extremly heavy and that got me wondering. Thanks.

blowntruck, i will be rotating my tires hopefully this weekend if i get my drive paved early enough this week. I am gonna weight them on my bathroom scale. not the most accurate but it will give me a pretty good idea. I remember when i rotated them last time. Damn are they heavy, especially for being aluminum. I can't wait to get the drive paved, cuz then i can crawl under the HD and clean everything i can with out having rocks jab me in the back.

Thumbs up

If it's no trouble I would apprechiate it. Since im trying to lower my e/t's I want to reduce the weight if I can (100pounds=1 tenth) and maybe swap wheels/tires for the track. Thanks.

no prob at all blowntruck, i rotate my tires every 10 thousand miles anyway, and it is at 19 something now so she's due for an oilchange and tire rotation. I was gonna weight them anyway. hopefully i can do it this weekend.

Cool

I'll tell you how heavy they are. There real heavy. I couldn't believe the weight of these things. If you are going to the track I would change them out, not only because of the weight but also because of the 20 inch wheel go with a 17 inch or smaller. That is just my openion, everybody else will give you a differant one.

lucky,
your take on the taking wheels off for the track sound right. just don't have money right now for track tires/wheels.

I usually go to Capitol but, it really sucks traction wise. I just went to Cecil last night and got my new best, 13.1 !!!

blowntruck, dont worry, i didn't forget about ya. I couldn't do it last weekend cuz the drive wasn't set up enough to be puttin jacks under the truck. It would have put holes in my fresh pavement. It rained last saturday too. I'm gonna try and do them saturday, but i dunno cuz were having a memorial day thing here on sunday. and its gonna get pretty busy, but i will remember to weight them.
