Will the HD be any different in 03? Also boost on a 02?

Well my dad has paid off the truck and he is planning on getting a new HD (I have no idea why he is lowering it when he knows hes going to get a new one ) Anyways what he wanted to know is will the 03 HD be any different than the 02? If not then he is going to get the 03 and I can begin putting in lowering springs/chip/intake/exhaust. Last of all he drives it around everywhere ,so what I want to also find out is if the 02 blower can handle his daily driving and what psi is the blowers boost at stock?

I doubt it. The f150 is to be redesigned June of next year. The L and HD will be basically unchanged except maybe for minor details for next year. There is a slight possibity that the 3 valve per cylinder head will be installed; but that is speculation. That would probably give about another 20 horsepower. I think the boost on a Harley is super low. The upper pulley was made larger than the Ls which accounts for most of the horsepower lose. Maybe 5 pounds, give or take a pound. Look to 04 for style and engine changes if they still even make a HD in that year. Alan

I don't see there being any real major changes to the HD for '03. Being that they just upgraded it majorly for the '02 model year (and being late with it at that) from previous years. I'm guessing if there is any differences, they'll be minor. Isn't Ford's restructuring plan for vehicles every 4 years? Or is it every 3 years?

Lightning's have 8lbs of boost. New HD's have Lightning engine. But with less power. Which would put the boost in around maybe 6lbs or so. Possible someone with a new HD, or a brouchere on it, could share what their gauge states??

I personally think that they should have offered the new HD in an optional 2 door version. Maybe that could be an addition to next year's models??

I think there's a possibility that there will be a combined 100 year anniversary edition Harley F150. Harley is planning several special editions of their motorcycle line.... I would expect something special on the 2003 Harley Davidson F150.

i think there will be a significant change for a few reasons. One being that it will be their 100th anniversary HD. I think it will be dressed up a little more or something along the lines. also, there have been significant changes over the years. 00 to 01 went from supercab to s-crew, different pinstripes, different seats, different consoles, different lower grille, different rear, tailgate emblem, and no tonneau included, and many others. from 01 to 02 they added a color, changed the interior, flame pinstripes, S/C!, and different grill and headlights, and alot more minor things. So i think they might add a third color next year, maybe add a supercab, or reg-cab in addition to the screw, or up the hp if the L gets an increase. but i doubt i will just be little small changes

Thanks for all the info ,but it seems like we all have to wait and see. I really dont mind if he gets a 02 or 03 as long as its on 20's with 300+hp and he lets me drive it every now and then . I hope they do something special in 03. I know in 04 the F-series will be redesigned but does anyone know what the new engines will be packing? (its about time they spruce up these engines).

The 04s will have in the L aprroximately 410-420 horsepower with the new 3 valve heads. Figure the HDs will have about 370-380. That is if they make them.

I think the 03 will have special badging, etc. saying it is an anniversary model. But I seriously doubt there will be any significant engine changes and definitely no body style changes. It is just common sense. The redesigned f150 will be out in june/july of next year. If the HD is released from this december to next May it would have to be in the old body style.
