I think I may have you beet for the lowest number on the production date of the truck. I purchased my truck almost a year ago. With 2000 miles on it, the truck was never titled but my dealer bought it from another dealer and he put the miles on it. I got a good deal on the truck since I brought it in 2001. Anyway I'm getting the run around from ford company on trying to give me the exact number. I don't think it would be that hard since there are data bases on this stuff. They just don't want to do the work. My truck was made on 5-16-00. Any body out there with info on where or who I can contact to get the exact number will be great, thanks.

How do you know your build date and not your production number? just wondering

 

The build date on mine is 7-24-00 off the window sticker. My production number is a mystery since Ford Canada is a little slow getting us the certificates and plague.

 

My 2000 HD F150 was built October 4, 2000. I purchased it in November of 2000. Still have not received anything from Ford about the Production Number. I assume they must have discontinued providing the plaque etc, because of cutbacks. Anyway I think I must have gotten one of the last 2000 models built.

 

you can go to a Ford dealer service department and have one of the service advisors run a "oasis" report online to get the exact build date and the inservice date, The inservice date is the date the warranty started, I bought mine on july 3rd but the dealer dated it june 30th to get one more in on the june sales.
does not matter there are warrantys that Ford has to 75,000 miles called "policy" or something (PO5)
I lose 3 days warranty

Anyway My 2 cents

 

Just got my plaque and keychain from Ford on Christmas eve. Bought my 2000 in May. Doesn't have a build number on it however, has the build date "August 29 2000" and has the V.I.N. number and model. Looks good but no build number ... any comments?

Anyway to turn this info. into a build number?

 

August 29 is my sister's birtday. Probably not the comment you were looking for.

 

You would be the first Canadian who has received a plaque and key chain. I hope that means we are all getting one.

One thing though. If you got your Truck in May 2000 how can the built date be August 29 2000?

Sorry .. a typo. Got the HD in May 2001. Too much celebrating this holiday I guess, can't keep the years straight ... will really be confused next week at this time.

If I'm the first in Canada to get the plaque I hope I'm not the last.

Can't get any info from the local dealer ... they aren't tapped into the special edition market. They didn't know about any of the special items and were really surprised when the offer came out about the tonneau covers. This is a working truck town .. certain they only brought in the HD to get the curbside traffic up. Oh well when they wanted to move it, they had to come to my price, good deal for me but they are no help about any of the special items.

Casey K mentioned a certificate ... what's that about?

 

As with our US owners, we were to get a certificate indicating production # and build date--my last contact with the F150 manager's office indicated they "were still working on it"--this would have been Oct. Haven't heard a word since nor got the key chain etc. This was for the '00 model. Don't know if anyone in Canada with the '01 got anything ??? Will email to see what's up.

 

I received my plaque and key chain in the mail today. Very Cool. My built date also shows as August 29 2000 and no production number. Makes me wonder if every Canadian owner will have the same date. I drove my Truck of the dealer lot on September 18 2000 in Sudbury. Kind of hard to believe the Truck was built less then a month before I bought it. I don’t really care though. Nice to have the stuff.

My build date was 17 Aug 00, production number 4875, to give you some idea of yours.

 

i have production number 7253.....i bought mine in 2/01 brand new and it was manufactured 9/28/2000

i also have my plaque/keychain/tonneau cover

A couple of days after Christmas I received a package in the mail. Alas it was my plaque and keychain. The same one they said I would not receive. If I had known I was getting one I would have let them know that my mother bought the truck for me because guess what...It has her name on it. Oh well just more of my typical luck. Anyway my build date was July 31, 2000. Same as my anniversary(different year though). Still like it but have to figure out a way to change the name without wrecking it.

and justcruzin, if you have the 00, and got the plaque, it should have the build # on it. you might just not realize where it is cause it doesn't say build # or anything, it just has 4 digits on a space on it. i'll post a pic of mine later cause it should be the same plaque.
