Question 2002 Harley Davidson Or Lightning?

I'M TORN !!! I OWN A 2001 HARLEY F150 AND ENJOY THE ROOM AND IT'S DOING OK AT THE TRACK( see HD F150 1/4 times) BUT IT'S THAT TIME TO START ORDERING 2002s. MY BUDDY'S 2001 "L" DOES 12.9 1/4s @ 106 AND I'M REALLY INTO RACING. BUT IM NOT SURE FROM A INVESTERS POINT OF VIEW WHICH WILL HOLD UP MORE IN VALUE.

Please send me pro's and con's!

2002 HARLEY DAVIDSON: SUPERCHARGED 340hp four seater
2002 LIGHTNING : SUPERCHARGED 385hp two seater

which ever one you can get 0% financing. To get an L to go that fast you must "mod-it" and then you set yourself up for warranty disputes. I would say go with the HD and keep the style, remember the '02 are blown.

Get the L. They're more rare and faster. Only reason I'd get a Harley is if i needed more interior room.

The last way to think of it

IS from an investor's point of view. Since either truck will loose value soon as it's off the lot, they are both inherently bad investments. Do yu have a family? Do you frequently transport 2 or mroe people in your truck? If not, and you want somethign faster, go for the lightening.

I'd say get the HD just for the syling and power, but if you want a rarer model get the L, cuz less are made, but if you want it for value AND racing, i'd say it wouldn't be a very good investment cuz people who buy hte L's and mod em and beat the crap out of them racing them ruin the trucks. I'd say an unmodded L that wasn't raced would be more valueable in teh future. same goes with the hd. Ever notice how most of the gen 1 L's are usually beat, and hard to find a really nice one? but its your decision. post some pics of whatever one ya get though

The "L" will be more fun.

Don't expect the blown Harley's to be anywhere as fast as the Lightnings. Firstly, its a heavier truck. To keep the Lightning as a true SVT vehicle, the Harley engine will either be detuned or the Lightning will be bumped, but either way they wont have the same HP.

J-150, the hd engine is detuned, w/ 40 less hp. but the L doesn't get any more, for this year. also i heard from another L owner that the only difference between the two engines is the upper pulley, and a chip. buy those and you should have just about their hp, from what he said.

I would go with the Lightning, even though the Harley is going to be blown, the Lightning still should be faster. The Harleys are beautiful, though. Tough decision.
