Talking Hdf-150 Downunder

Well, it was a long time in the making and waiting.... I finally have my RIGHT-HAND drive (had to be converted from LH drive) 2001 Harley F-150 and am now causing havoc in the streets of Sydney, Australia. Registered (number plate is "HDF-150".... black plates!) with the Roads Authority on Nov 10 2001. Couldn't wait to fit the Lightnin' clear corners, heads, tails (picked those and other bits 'n' pieces up in the 'States on my July trip!) ...changed over the lights that afternoon! Thanks for the tips on-line y'all...very helpful. The "HDF-150" has been turning a few heads...... is one of only six 2001 HDF-150's that have found their way "Downunder" and the first to hit the roads here. I went the "whole hog" with the moon roof, rear sliding window and 6 stack CD.

I should have some fun in the truck this summer (yeh.."Downunder" we are just about into summer!

Take care y'all..

Regards

Gaday Gary,

I'll be looking for you on my next visit to OZ. I usually make about two trips a year, starting in Sydney, going up the east coast to Cairns, then across to Darwin, Derby and on to Perth.

I bet you really are turning heads in Sydney, especially at the fuel bowser. What is the $Aus per litre today? Which engine did you get?

Now that it is comning into summer there you can throw open the sun roof and cruise the Gold Coast.

Enjoy your ride. You have something that Holden will never offer there.

Cheers

Harley#356. Will do once I get a digital camera on my next os trip expected by the end of the month.

I put the HDF-150 in the Sydney Autosalon on the weekend and picked up teh "Bad Boy *****-trucker" award. The "HDF-150" certainly got some interest. Even the "coppers" checked it over and asked whether it was street legal!

Take care

Dewayne,

I think Harley#356 has answered this one. You asked about gas prices "Downunder". Sydney metro the price is about AUD 75 cents a litre or about USD 1.75/gallon on current exchange rate of AUD1= USD0.52.

What do you come "Downunder" to drive that far? Sydney-Cairns is a good 3 days drive....I lve about 35 miles nor-west of Sydney...near Windsor which is on most maps. We are near a big RAAF base (Richmond) which the US airforce flights some of its "******" of airplanes into.

Take care.... I'll get to Texas some day...I've been to most of the West and WY, SD, MT, CO, AZ, NM, TN, GA, FL, MI, AL
