Tire Shine
Just wondering what kind of tire shine you guys use. I used eagle one first, but it was a dirt magnet and the tire turned brown in no time. Then i got some of that tire shine with the silver color tint, can think of the name though, it looked great with the silver hue, but that stuff is a pain to get off, it's practically imposible cuz it turns into like a black tar stuff i guess from the brake dust, ya gotta almost just let it wear off itself. I just had my friend pick me up a gallon of some stuff, i don't know the name, but it's like a pink watery liquid and looks great! I'll let ya know how it turns out. The stuff dealers use looks good too, has anybody found a good tire shine that lasts and isn't sticky or turn brown?
I got a tip from one of the forums in here to try Turtle Wax brand Tire Wax....and believe it or not it is great. Doesn't sling onto body...lasts...not toooooo shiney...and you can buy it at any K-mart type store.
Another thumbs uP for Turtle Wax Tire dressing! This product is awesome guys! It goes on fairly easy and last and last, even thru a wash or two! It holds the shine once you have a few coats on the tires and will not sling off on your black paint like mine! I used to use commercial tire dressing like the dealers use, it only last until a day or so. This stuff sells for like $5 a pop and while your at it grab yourself an Eagle One applicator which makes it a little more fun to dress up those tires!

I'll have to agree with Showya and logical. Dollar for dollar Turtle wax is the way to go. I keep a good shine for a couple of weeks at least between washings. At $5 for a 32oz. size, it's pretty cost effective.
personally, I like the eagle one wet struff, If you dont clean the tires really good, the brown look sets in. After I spray the wheels, i rub them down with the eagle one tire sponge thing, It gets rid of the streaks. After the sponge thing, I wipe the white lettering off with a towl to eliminate any dirty look. Now that i am at collage, (no more garage to park in) I detail the wheels at the car wash, drive a few blocks to the parking lot, finish any tuch up struff, w and let the vehicle set a day or two (sometimes turn vehicle around so the sun dries the tires on both sides better. I do this every wash, once a week and the wheels stay great. (except if the wind blows in Oklahoma 30 mph right after the wash)
will get better pics right after the wash when I go home and barrow the camera!

I agree with the Eagle1. PhillipSVT here's a tip: spray the sponge applicator first then apply it to the wheels. This keeps the goop off the rims and produces an even application across the entire sidewall.
I've tried several and am happy with Maguire's Endurance. Good shine, just get the excess off so it doesn't end up on the paint. Other than that, and all the tire treatments have that problem, it lasts a long time and makes my HD look great.

"Downunder" I use......Meguiar's Endurance.... and if you buy the boxed product (I've bought it in the US as well) they give you a sponge applicator.... just so you don't mess up those chrome HD Rims!
