How could you do it?
So I stopped by the "Man's Candy Store," (Home Depot) night before last. I go to the back of the lot and low and behold, there's another '00 HD150 sitting there. So I pull up and pull right next to it. As I get closer, I start to feel sick. Upon close inspection, I see that this fine automobile is currently being used as a beater work truck. The paint was scratched to hell, it had obviously been stuck in some deep mud, there was paint spilled in the bed, and there was a muddy pair of work boots sitting on the passenger seat. I just thought to myself "30 g's is a lot to spend on a work truck." But then I also thought, "hey, now there's only a possibility of 7498 trucks to look better than mine." LOL.

Would make me sick to see that. Have always had an appreciation for fine machinery.
Got the Harley this May and love every minute I'm in it. Even when cleaning.
Wouldn't have been able to stay and look at one being abused.

Hi there!
I saw a guy driving a 2001 in Bradford, Ont. He had the back full of crap (paint, boards and stuff) and 2 guys in the back seat. He pulled up beside me and yelled, "Nice truck!" I said back "Your's used to be. What the heck are you doing to it?" Then as he passed I saw signs on the side of the truck for a painting company. Man, what a waste!!! Beats me.
Cindy.

Harley Truck dudes,
We all arguably own or drive the most beautiful production truck ever made to date, but to make an issue of the Harley trucks being used as a work truck is wrong. For one thing, it's just an expensive truck, period. This is a different world now than when most of us bought or leased our Harley's. Some of these guy's may really not care if it gets beat to Hell or not , but others may be forced to due to economic conditions. I for one, are not quite as **** anymore about whether or not the damn wheels are shiny inside or out or if it gets a little bug goo on it.....I just want it paid for......

Hey, I'm so happy that the guy that bought another 2000 HD truck here in my little town of 3000 people decided it is a work truck.
His truck is still a nice black truck, but other than that, it no longer stands out. The truck is dinged up, dirty most of the time and the wheels and tires are so muddy, you would never notice they are low profile with fancy rims.
In the meantime, everyone STARES and stops what they are doing when my clean and perfect "**** cared for" beauty drives by. I get thumbs up on every drive.
Not only that, but I enjoy the heck outta keeping it looking great. It's a great relaxer and stress reducer to go out and wipe the dust, etc. of the HD.
Life is good.

I see one around my place that is used as some sort of construction company's truck. The guy did a nice job with it though, because he spent a lot to get the chrome and orange lettering... it's even in the same font as what Harley uses. I'm betting he just uses it as a driving billboard though. I've never seen it doing REAL work. If you've got the money, why not???
Rat Bikes
You see the same thing with the wheelies....guy walks into a Harley shop, plunks down his 20K, and rides out, never having been on a bike or just having his second childhood/midlife crisis, and the machine never sees the wash bucket or wax. I've never understood paying this much for a machine and not taking care of it. Saw a guy the other day riding a fairly new Road King (twin cam) and it looked worse than a bent ****can.
Oh well.....you have to appreciate fine art and machinery, I guess...
