Tonneau & Murphy's Law

Hi there!
Well I got my cover yesterday and guess what. Murphy's law being so true, my cover is damaged. I had the choice to take it or wait another 6 months for another one. Doesn't look that bad. I can take it and have it painted and they will cover 100%. I can't believe that the thing could come out of a perfectly good, unmarked box with scratches. I told them I wanted to be there when it was opened. Sure enough, lo and behold it had scratches all over the place. Oh well, I still like it, just have to wait a few days instead of months. Murphy's Law....

Hey Cindy

I know how you feel about this whole waiting game. I took the $900 Certificate from Ford instead of their cover, figuring it would take to long to get. In early June I ordered an Action Cover from Van & Truck World in Scarborough, which I had installed a week and a half later. The next day while cleaning the Truck I noticed that there was a crack in the paint around the lock. I went back to VTW and they said they would get me a new one. Two month later and their was still no cover. I finally went back to the store to talk to them and they told me they had been waiting to hear from Head Office. So the Guy ordered another cover for me, an A.R.E, while I was waiting and I had it installed last Friday. The new cover is way better than the first one, but the waiting was a pain.

Cindy: bummer about the cover--guess I was lucky, no damage whatsover but I was nervous since at least a couple of other posters mentioned damage on delivery. Painting would be the way to go: who wants to wait months if there's no physical damage...good luck

Murphy's Law!!!!!!!!!!!!!!After patiently waiting for a year I had my cover put on today. No damage, looks great, BUT THE KEY CYLINDER DOES NOT MATCH MY FACTORY KEY!!!!!!! Nothing ever goes smooth does it?????

ive got the key cylender that came in my truck but im still waiting for the tonneau. the dealer promised it was on order but in aug. i called leer to check on delivery and the said they had no order!!!!! so i yelled a bit and they sent me the orderform and told me to give it to the dealer and then have them fax it. seems -to be the same to me but hopefully this time they order the stupid thing!!! also if i dont get it soon i know some people got a check from ford instead of the cover. how did you go about doing that? at this point i want to just go and buy an ARE because i want a cover.

2000F150HD,

This cover is worth the wait!!!!!!!!! I chose to deal direct with Leer
& a local Leer installer. I did not want to lose my truck for the day & have them drive it to the Leer installer. Plus getting an answer from the dealership can be a pain in the ass. I spoke with Amanda @ Leer customer service (800) 525-8046. :D
