"I have owned stock all my life" = "I was born with a trust fund"?

Don't ya love it when a seventeen year old uses the term "all my life"?

Sounds like the tooth fairy still stops by pretty regularly.

Easy Fellas.... you're talking to America's future Adults... You know, "the something for nothing", and "everybody owes me" crowd....

Well, I'll say innocent until proven guilty. He may have ponied up his own bucks for the truck, more power to him. If not, then he has to deal with the fact he's a phony. All I can say is if he's drivin the HD he better have at least one bike to ride, even if it is a crotch rocket. Otherwise he's just like all the others that buy Harley T's etc. and don't ride a bike, just another poser. Can't stand fakes, both in vehicles and people.

Nice scoot. A properly done bagger is a thing to behold. I was looking for a Road King or Heritage, wound up with the Heritage. Check my sig for my online album or my web page.

C'mon give the guy a break. Being 17 isn't like when some of you were younger. were alot more educated know and we arn't being held back. By the time I was 17 I was co owner and operator of a web based buisness making a pretty penny. I'm 19 know and have a house fully paid for and 2 cars that me and my brother split. Plus the Harley.

Also about the stocks I invested $100 into penny stocks when I was just 13 and have been keeping up with the market ever since. So don't jump to conclusions and don't under estimate the power of a hard working dedicated teen.

Plus if his dad did purchase the truck for him. Great!!! Are you going to say "NO" if some one offered you a 2000 Harley Truck? I don't think so. Leave him alone. If his dad did buy it for him I hope he earned it.

Paul

A lot more educated?

Without even trying hard I see these problems with your writing....in addition to the lack of hyphenating and punctuating properly:

We're....not "were"
a lot, not "alot"
aren't, not "arn't"
business, not "buisness"

Why is it none of these wiz-kid computer geek teen HD owners can manage to post a picture of them beside it...or even the truck itself? Even a 40-year old engineering manager like me can operate a digital camera. And certainly this Wall Street child-prodigy can afford one.

I am not doubting that some teen could do all of this....and by the way it was possible way before your little generation......I am doubting based on your comments that YOU in particular have.

And you have no idea what I have said NO to from my parents. Trust me, it is a lot more than a truck.

Easy on the kiddies. Since I personally know at least 2 kids who made big on the recent stock boom, I'm not altogether ready the dismiss them. (although in one case, it was more like, "Oh junior likes computers. How cute, let me buy him a bundle of these cheap computer company stocks as a 'meaningful' gift." Which of course in due time literally exploded)

Additionally, I think kids these days are exposed to more variety of information, and their breadth (if not depth) of knowledge is fairly impressive, especially if it is computer-related. In the past, we judged intelligence by an established, static set of benchmarks, such as ability to spell. But I'm no longer sure if that's the case anymore. Certainly, my experince in various forms of chat sites (from '89 and on) tells me that some kids now can construct a detailed analysis of a complex subject without being burdened with proper spelling. A part of that is due to the fact that even adult posters often pay no more than a passing nod to proper spelling. A teenage lurker here could probably ingest quite a bit of F150 information without necessarily learning proper spelling. How many times have you seen "loose/lose" mispelling here? Decent/Descent? Their/they're? Its/It's?

Not to say that these two 17 year old kids are modern day savant level geniuses. But whay they know is probably much different from what we knew when we (uhh... not to date myself, but when I say we, I'm talking about over 30 crowd) were 17. Not necessarily more, not necessarily less, not dumber, or smarter in any objective sense. Just different.

Well lets see...

Since most of you think im spoiled (which I admit I kinda am since I got this truck).

I worked my a** of during the summer doing manual labor and counseling day camp kids. I was working almost 12 hours a day for 5 days a week Mon-Fri and 6 hrs on Saturday. I also worked at a supermarket by me for 7 bucks an hour when I wasnt playing sports. (Made all-county in football and lacrosse). I racked in about 10G's a year. So I had $19,578.95 in the bank and am working again this summer before I go off to college. That will probably get me another 5 G at the least.

I asked my dad if I could keep some money for aftermarket stuff and he said I could keep 5G and 1/2 of what I get this summer. The truck cost about 27G with shipping and all the stuff. So in reality, I paid for more than half of my stuff through tough labor almost 12 hrs a day.

My mom and grandma also contributed 2G's each. My grandma LOVES me cuz I always help her around the house and teach her about new stuff and my mom was happy cuz I got a 1470 on my SAT and a 3.0 on my AP Tests. She agreed to pay for some. I also got 30,000 from the college im going to. I dont want to tell you which college but I can tell you that its in NY and it has a good sports team which I am playing for. (Just so you guys dont stalk me )

Still think Im spoiled?

"A lot more educated?"

Yes, Now we are more educated. With advances in technology and new teaching methods. We are a lot more educated coming out of high school than people who graduated 10 years ago. Times have changed. We aren’t just learning Math anymore.

"Without even trying hard I see these problems with your writing"

Spelling? LOL. This is a message board not a letter to the president. Just because I don’t check my spelling and review what I’m typing doesn’t mean that I can’t go out in the world and be successful. Our own a HD.

"wiz-kid computer geek "

Wiz-kid computer geek- Huh?? Name calling eh? LOL. One thing that I am not is a Wiz-Kid. Plus I am not a geek. Just because I found a way to make some money off the computer. I think you are geek for not giving teens the respect we deserve and have worked hard to receive. It’s people like you that make it harder and harder for us every day to earn respect. Sounds to me like maybe some Computer Geek Wiz Kid may have replaced you in your climb to the top of the hill.

"Can manage to post a picture of them beside it"

You want a picture? Sure I can post a picture. I just haven’t scanned one onto my computer. I’ll have one for you by Friday. Actually this Wall Street prodigy has better things to spend his money on than a digital camera. Sorry but photo taking is not my favorite pass time. It’s something I try not to spend to money on.

Sorry for typing so much, but it’s tough for teens these days to get ahead and I have spent long hours to prove myself and I don’t really like it to much when someone who hasn’t meet me our even talked to me once in my life can call me – Stupid, Full of ****, and Geek all in one post. Or any of these teens on this site. That’s just wrong.

Thanks

Paul. (One of the wiz kid computer geek)

Also Thanks Chaean it's people like you that have made it possible for me and others to get where we are today. It's good to know that not all people think teenagers are just a bunch of punks.
