Angry Harley Davidson Grill

Even though I don't have the Harley edition SuperCrew, I'm still going to post a message here anyway.

I currently own a XLT 4x4 SuperCrew. Have had it for about 3 months. Now I'm moving into Phase, 2 or the customizing phase of ownership. Wheels, tires and exhaust are done. Next on my list is a custom grill. The one I really want to add to my truck is the one that the Harley Davidson SuperCrew rolls out of factory wearing. Only hitch is, the dealer's parts department won't sell it to me unless I can provide him with a VIN from a HD SuperCrew. Tried pulling a VIN from a HD truck on the dealers lot and using it to order the part with no success (apparently the VIN has to be listed as sold).

Anybody know of a workaround for this dilemma, or a place I can buy the darn grill.

I'm getting to the point where I'd pay a bounty to an HD SuperCrew owner if he'd order me the grill!

Any helpful idead would be greatly appreciated.

www.karkraft.com has them. Go there and click on truck&suv and scroll down about half way.

Good luck!

I have a brand new Harley grille with the black surround that I might part with if the price is right...

Harley 356,

I didn't change my grill, kept the original one intack, I just came across a brand new one and purchased it. Figured if I got chips in mine I would have a spare to replace it. But if someone needs one, I might be willing to part with it if the $$$ are right..

Smile HD Grill

Hey Harley.... I don't need the black surround, just the grill insert. Might actually be better for you to keep the surround anyway since it works with your truck. Ford parts in Florida wants around $220 for the insert. What would you part with yours for? Email me at mt32839@earthlink.net if you're interested.
Thanks for the feedback.

Unhappy

I think you should try another dealer.........This winter I decided to go snow plowing with mine (by mistake) & had to order a Grille, Bumper, Lower Valance and 2 Driving Lamps. Did NOT need my VIN or anything else, and I did the ordering (work in ford parts Dept). The only thing I needed the VIN for was the HD-F150 emblem on the fender.......Try another dealer!!!

Hey Harley1500. I'll go forth and make inquiries elsewhere. But, since you work in Ford Parts, do you know if the Harley grill insert is a direct swap (i.e. no mods, cutting, fabrication) for my stock XLT grill insert?
