What to do with my Tax Return

Plugging in all our numbers now that we have our last pay checks, I show a $1600 return. If I'm a nice guy and split that 50/50 with my wife, what should I do with my $800

I'm thinking a 4lb pulley with gator belt and an indash MP3 player. That should pretty much tap it out. Maybe I should split it 70/30

I personally like the stock exhaust so that's not something I am considering. In a few years if the stock exhaust needs replacing, then I'll look at what's out there.

Lowering? I wouldn't mind leveling the truck out a bit.

Intake - did my own

The lower grill and L tail lights are great suggestions. They are high on my list.

Bottom line is the stock stereo has to go. The performance of my new door speakers and JL sub is so degraded running off the stock HU.

If you are getting a new stereo system. Look into either the Lincoln blackwood sub (if you are looking for something with just a little punch) or the JLaudio stealth enclosure (if you are lookin for something with a nice boom!) Some 5.25 inch components would be nice too powered by a 5 channel amp which you should store in the compartment behind the seats.

Good luck on the install and be sure to get pics up once this project is complete!

I would say chip and pulley.

I got $5000 back last year, so my mod list could get interesting.

JL 250/1, Stealthbox, and 6 1/2" components are already installed.

Right now this is running off the factory head unit (yuk). So I need to change that bad. In the future, I want to add a JL 300/2 for the fronts. I'll mount the 300/2 just like I did the 250/1 (see pics in gallary.

Fepony, if I understand correctly, you are tax exempt then you are in a better position than the rest of us who pay taxes.

Remember overpay is just stupidity on our part for giving the IRS more money during the year than they should be getting. LoL!

The higher the refund the more interest the IRS collected on my money during the year. I try to keep the dough in my bank account (or better yet spend it on mods) before giving it to someone else to use.

Thumbs up aye...

When you owe money to the IRS they charge you 18%. When they hold your money why don't they have to pay you 18%? This is one of my most asked questions.

Lets see.. With the wonderful saving interest rate these days of like .5%, I could have made $5 in interest.. Yippy.. Uncle Sam can consider that $5 my contribution to the deficit. I'd rather get the nice return. This year was a complete guess for us since we bought a house in April. I wasn't sure we would have enough property tax and interest paid to get a nice return.

Good point, Lightning, however, I invest my money in other ways that gets me a little better return. Fortunately, my company has faired well and our stock is still doing well so I put my money there.

Besides, if you plan right and don't pay them anything you can spend that money on mods long before you get your return.

Looks great. I don't have a need for cassette though and would really like a MP3 HU. I REALLY wish Eclipse would get off their butts and put MP3 in one of their regular CD players.

After the break ins, I would advise in a very nice Alarm system (if you don't already have one).
