Talking Digital Camera

I'm looking for a reasonably priced digital camera that takes respectable pictures. What kind of camera and what megapixel are you using?

I've been using Casio's QV3000-EX for about two years. No problems ever. It's 3.36 megapixels and uses 4 AA Nickel Metal Hidryde batterys that are separate. I got the one with the IBM Microdrive 340 meg Compact Flash storage drive. On economy mode, it allows you to take thousands of pictures. On its highest resolution setting, you still get hundreds of pictures. It's been a fantastic camera. Don't get less than 2 megapixels. Go to amazon.com and check out all the reviews of all their cameras. That's where I go to do research on this kind of stuff.

If you like a big zoom ( Action shots at the track )
Look at the Olympus C2100 ultra zoom

I got one about 2-3 months ago and love it. It takes GREAT pictures is only about $500 and is 2.1 megapixel which is PLENTY for 90 % of people. Unless you are going to print Large Format a lot.

Olympus E100RS. RS stands for rapid shot, 15 f.p.s., plus great zoom ratio. Can't beat it for auto racing and other sports photography.

Canon A-20.... 2.1megapixel, usb, uses "aa" sized batteries, recharable "NH" are the best. Cruise the digital camera section of cnet.com, has a price comparison database with reviews and editors choice. I paid 277.00 a couple of months ago.
Also picked up a Epson 820 photo printer, retire your film camera,
the output is that good!

Cool

Sony DSCF-707 5.25Mp, Info-Lithium battery, I charge it once a week, and it shoots about 200 pics with falsh, more if you don't use it. No AA batteries!! Uses "memory sticks" as the recording media. I get about 55 pics (2560x1920 jpeg on "fine resolution")on a 128Mb "stick". Takes TIFF, and MPEG movies. To much other stuff to list. It's a great camera,a bit pricey, but is worth every $. If you like, I can post some reviews, and pics.
