Not bad for a $3,500 vehicle..........People are just dumb. And it is a 305, a dog engine.

Older trucks value has gone crazy! As crazy as that price seems, anyone that has ever done a restoration to return a vehicle to new condition knows that $30k is cheap. Also a lot of guys with disposable income or guys that work in "cash" business love the 70s - 80s Chevy trucks

Gorgeous time machine, but for such a basic truck, short bed, crank windows, 305 etc it seems insane to fetch 4x the cost of the truck new.

On the other hand the cost to bring one back to life to that condition would probably cost 50k + the truck. So maybe it is a good deal

Most of the pristine '80's era trucks I have seen have gone somewhere in the low-20's -- this one is trending shockingly higher!

One thing that might be working in its favor is the color -- a nice blue is always a "seller" and a lot of the well-preserved rigs I have seen from that era have been "Grandpa Brown" in color.....

Auctions like this make me think my kid will be dumping my F-150 about 30 minutes after they sprinkle my ashes on the rocky shore of a northern Minnesota lake.....

The GM square bodys have really started going for good money lately but that's nuts. The low mileage has to be a big factor in it. Otherwise it's a fairly low spec truck and not hugely desirable.

Nice little truck but that's when GM quality was on the downslide. Early '80's Chevy trucks brought me over to the Blue Oval side. Bought my first Ford truck in '84.

That's way too much for a square body chevy, especially when you would have to throw another 15K at it for an LS conversion with a 4L80 trans and 4 wheel disc brakes. Then you would have a good running dependable truck that also looked good.

Probably has the computer controlled Quadrajet. What a jewel that was. They tended to leak gas through the body of the carb and flood the engine while parked. Doing this for a while washed the cylinders clean of oil and killed the engine. How do I know this? I had an 86 Monte Carlo SS with the 305. What a pos that engine was!

This one is re-listed -- I guess the buyer wigged out or couldn't come up with the cash to close the deal.....
