Only thing I can come up with through Google was a Craigslist listing for a 1997 5spd F150 trans. M5od transmission in think she it's name.

We ask that you only have one thread per subject. It gets more confusing when we have multiple threads with multiple replies for one subject.

Post up a pic of it and give a few more details like cast iron or aluminum case, number of gears, detachable bellhousing etc. That will help.

EDIT: it seems to be a M5R1or M5R2 both are variations of the M5OD. These came in Windsor and Modular bolt pattern bellhousings. The bellhousing is part of the case so you're stuck with whatever it has. I wouldn't plan on doing much with it even if it's free. They are pretty weak and not that great of trans.

I beat the **** out of two M5OD-R2 trucks and they have not popped yet. Sure no ZF, but I think easier to daily drive. If it came from a '88-'96 300 or 302 F-150/Bronco or a '97-'98 4.2L V6, sure. If it was a '97+ 4.6L V8, no. Also the shifter location moved on the '99+ trucks. Second variable would be if it is a 4x4 or 4x2 application to work with your truck. Not swappable if I remember right.
