Pics of the LAPD "buy back"

Don't let the AT-4 fool you, its a plastic dummy training aid

I'm also curious how many officers were watching this thinking: "I would never give up my guns"

The Chief and Mayor are both a couple of ****** for media coverage out here. Villar was right out in front of the cameras saying how many kids lives the have saved with the buy back, what a ham-bone!

So they were able to take over 1000 guns off the streets, not a one from the gang bangers, guess they feel that was a good direction to tip the scales.

But if you think about someone turning in a $700-$1000 gun for a supermarket coupon worth $50-$100 that person probably shouldn't be around ANY firearm EVER!

It's people of this mindset that have completely screwed up this state!

<RANT OFF/ON>

Oh and btw, I'm sure all those guns don't make it to the melting pot.

Idiocy. I'd hate to know what, if anything, goes on in the minds of some of the American citizens. You're right, jgger...people this stupid have no business with firearms anyway.

Just like the "cash for clunkers" and seeing some of the cars that got turned in for 3k vouchers

That's the other way around though. A lot of those cars were worth like $500. Imagine though all the gun sales for people buying guns to replace the ones they gave away. Illegal gun sales that is.

I don't know, I see most of those gift cards getting used at McDonalds or KFC immediately after their sale

Iirc, many of those cars were worth more than the clunkers program. There were some nice cars. A few vettes and such. People are dumb and you're wrong if you can think for yourself. It's the sad reality.

THEY BETTER SEARCH EACH SERIAL NUMBER and give the gun back to its rightful owner if it was reported stolen!

Bahahahaha I whole heartedly agree. But that will never happen.
What you see in those pictures will be sold for scrap.

Exactly right, that is, if they still have the serial number and it hasn't been filed off!
