Question computer scanners

What kind of scanners do most of you use for your photos? Wife and I are looking for a scanner for our baby pictures, etc. We can get a HP 4300cse for about $70 at a local store, has normally been $150. They also have a HP 4470 scanner, more expensive, but higher resolution. Would we notice a difference with printing photos with the degree of resolution, and what about ease of use? Thanks in advance. Jumpn

Higher resolution is better if you plan to print scanned images. If you just want to send in email or post on a web page 400x600 is adequate but most are higher now and this may be adjustable at the time of scanning. The higher the resolution the larger the file sizes will be too. As far as models, they're mostly he same ( I said mostly)- shop around for prices that best fit your budget. Typically you get what you pay for.
