Thinking of the 'New' iPad? Not so fast ...
*Disclaimer*
The following reality check contains disturbing content sure to upset all the pathetic, drooling iDrones fueling Apple's profits.
Additionally, it's kinda long, so it will be challenging for folks with attention spans of a fruit fly, and of course, Millenials
For the rest, the majority of the hale & hearty good folks here who do not fall into the above categories, this is a very good read; on-target, humorous, and very well-written. Enjoy!

I see the ginormous lineups of lemmings and wide-eyed zealots at the release events, and it reminds me of the post-holiday shopping crowds outside Walmart
Marketing trumps intellect, all day long ...
Ol' Bubba's Gen-u-ine Redneck iPoo - a Dual-boot WebOS + ICS on a firesale HP TouchPad FTW !!! LMAO !!!

Reason 10: There’s still no USB port
Reason 11: You still have to use iTunes too often
Reason 12: There’s still no removable storage
Reason 14: You can still only run software approved by Apple
Reason 15: It still can’t be used as a standalone computer
Reason 16: Apple still won’t let you write or run programs that execute programs
I absolutely hate the walled garden strategy, and itunes is an abomination.

Not that i don't like Apple products, just never had the desire to buy anything they offer. Don't have a Ipad now and pretty sure i never will.
I don't have a smart-phone either. Regular flip phone can handle my calling needs and if i want to go online, i have 2 desktops and 2 laptops at home to pick from.

Says it in a nutshell:
How much does that thing cost? My $300 Asus EeePC and my $99 Android smartphone serve my mobile needs better than one of those things. When I'm home, I have 4 desktop computers and a 42" TV for all my needs.
I much prefer real computers that can be used to do real work.

If you already have an ipad no need for this new one.... My wife bought me the Ipad 2 for christmas and i must say.... i'm not impressed at all. It's nothing more that a super sized I touch... Its a paper weight and I use my macbook 90% of the time some apps are not compatible and transferable from the macbook, iphone to the IPAD2 so you have to buy the same app twice....

I bought my iPad 2 and really get some use out of it. I use it at work for meetings - email and access to all my docs.
Work bought me an iPad 3 (whatever) on Friday. It's cool to have the newest version, but there is no wow factor. The screen does look great, the 4G is faster, and the new processor is speedy. I would not have paid for this myself - just not enough new features over my iPad 2.

I sell this crap at work. Not a fan of a lot of the tech crap as the "need" is often falsified in people's minds. Talking to a friend the other night, he said apple does an excellent job at making pretty, well organized products that have mostly what people want. Lets face it, the iPod revolutionized mp3 type players and iTunes pioneered song purchasing. Almost everyone I know has an iPod and to me it's a brilliantly made product. Other than that, I have no desire for anything else they sell. Tablets are a useless product in my opinion and I hate selling them for that reason

The only time I've ever seen an ipad for something productive was last summer on my construction internship. The 2D plans we're on the ipad, the whole spec book, as well as 3D BIM models. Anytime something got changed in the office, the ipad automatically updated all of it. No need for running off new plans, or cutting and pasting changes into old plans.
