Woman sues of MPG's
I don't blame her. When class action lawsuits take place the lawyers get almost all the money and the people actually suing get chump change. The company that gets sued and the person suing both lose. Nobody wins but the lawyers
If Honda grossly overstated the milage capabilities to sell this car then I have no sympathy for them at all. Why should the lawyers of the class action suit get all the compensation and the people that bought this car on falsified information get $200. That is garbage. I hope she wins. Most people would be too lazy to go this route.
I agree with her suing them for mis-representing the product. Honda has been getting their pants sued off in recent years for poor quality. I was even reimbursed for having to buy 2 new sunvisors for my Si when they both blew out within 2 weeks of each other in the Georgia sun last summer. Honda had a class-action lawsuit filed against them and they settled it out of court.
Wait... I am super confused. Why does she need a car in the kitchen?
A woman who expected her 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid to be her dream car wants Honda to pay for not delivering the high mileage it promised. |

I thought the mileage ratings were not set by Honda, but by a standard test on all vehicles by the epa? If Honda posted those test results(that the epa came up with) then how could they be sued for it?
^^ What I'm thinking exactly. Maybe Honda claims 50mpgs. Whatever the EPA rates it, there is a sticker on the window saying it.
Either way, this sounds like someone looking for a quick buck by jumping through loopholes. I wouldn't be surprised if she looked for a car in which to sue the manufacturer. |
I'm glad someone thinks like me...lol. I wouldn't be surprised at anything people do these days.
Here is an interview with the guy that started the class action a few years ago... http://green.autoblog.com/2007/07/07...es-the-guy-su/...both of them are clueless in my opinion. They do touch on the epa factor, but not much. And here is the thread I found off of google that had the link to the interview in it...http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...w-11487-2.html
