Unless more Americans get their heads out of the sand, we're in for another four years of Obama. I don't know why a majority of Americans feel the need to shoot themselves in the foot, then in the forehead, but it appears that could happen.

The republicans don't have anyone who really stands out. It's dissapointing to see the same people running. To them it seems like this is a game. I wish that someone different would run. Someone who sees that our country can't survive if we continue the way we're going. Someone who's got the where with all to get things done and get us headed back to the top.

I'd like to hear more about Herman Cain. Or anyone who isn't a "seasoned" politician.

What have the Republicans done to be so great when they have had the keys to the car?

Reagan...took our national debt from 900 billion to 2.8 trillion in 8 years...credited with the ending of communism (seems China is going pretty strong) and the USSR would have imploded anyway (hindsight is 20/20)...ended a recession and brought interest rates down by using government intervention

Bush Sr...added another couple trillion to the debt...bad economy...Iraq...yelled at veterans to shut up

Bush Jr...9/11...took away a lot of our freedoms with Patriot Act etc...worst recession/depression since the Great Depression...TARP

I am no defender of Obummer...I don't think he has done anything positive to really help things but I don't think he has done anything different than stay the course Bush Jr. had us on. Congress has tied his hands for the most part. The Republicans work in a very top down everyone fall in line method...Democrats don't have the same party allegiance and often vote away from the party power which is why they didn't accomplish a tenth of what they should have during the first year or so of Obummer's time.

I agree the national debt has to come down but I don't see how slashing taxes accomplishes this? If I am up to my eyeballs in credit card debt...quitting my full time job for a part time job that pays me 40% of my previous salary doesn't help me pay the bills.

How much more do corporations want??? GE paid no taxes on billions of income...the oil companies get huge subsidies...it goes on and on.

Just slashing everything that helps the poor is a bad way to go about it.

I like the proposal that we are going to do away with Medicare but not touch it for those currently under 55??? What kind of fix is that? Protecting political interest or what? If you're going to do something...go big and do it now not ten years from now. The huge bill is sitting on the desk right now and we are up to our credit limit.

I know I don't have all the solutions but I know what won't work and I haven't seen anything good from either side.

Sadly the most productive presidency in my lifetime was that of Clinton's and morally he is one of the most bankrupt people ever.

What are you saying? Private-for profit insurance companies aren't going to be lining up in droves to cover these people for the pittance the government is going to give them in lieu of Medicare? No way!

Just because 85% of Medicare benefits are used in the last year of one's life? Death Panels? Crickets chirping!!!

You've just recited, perhaps verbatim, the talking points of just about all of the progressive talking heads. Congratulations!

I'm not necessarily looking for republicans to take charge. I'm simply interested in people who are less likely to legislate our country into socialism. The current crop of democrats appear in lock step to drive this country into full fledged socialism.

Show me some humble, principled individuals of either party who are vying for votes, and I'll show you a registered independant who has no allegiance to either party.
