Got my stolen truck back this weekend

The story of it getting stolen..

Went to the local dealership this weekend to see my stolen farm truck. Its staying there for a while to get detailed since the local PD in Arizona dusted both doors for prints, and the guy filled the interior with trash. There were phone books from California on the inside, so we're thinking the guy who stole it drove it all the way to the coast, which is backed up by the additional 2,000 miles that are on it now.

The guy also took of the brush guard, cut the mud flaps off with a box cutter, and lost the spare tire. The brush guard and mud flaps make sense, him trying to make the truck not stand out as much in the city. But ditching the spare tire seems pretty stupid.

Anyways, good to have the truck back. Just have to decide if we're going to keep it or sell it sence we already ordered a 2011 F-150 to replace it.

Also, got the hub caps out of storage since we're thinking about selling the truck. They're still in the packaging from the factory, but have Coors beer cardboard containers layered between the hubcaps. Anybody seen this before or know why this is? Kind of interesting to see.

Hell, I'd keep it just for the story. You'd think about how reliable that truck has been and it's journey everytime you climbed in.

Glad you got it back, mostly intact.

He probably sold the spare and the brush guard to get some quick cash.

The spare was probably used to transport narcotics

would you still have bought the 2011 is this truck did not get stolen? If the answer is no, then talk to your salesman to see if you can cancel your order without penalty, and continue to use this truck on the farm.

She made it back home, she wants to work on the farm.

Looks like a good truck in good condition. Do a good overall inspection, check all the maintainence, change the oil and put her back to work.

My grandma is the one who actually owns the vehicle, and she has been wanting to get a new truck for a while now since she cant drive this one because of the truck being a manual, and her having a hip replacement. Also, the truck is a PITA to start in the winter since its a diesel that isnt driven much. The truck getting stolen was just the tipping point for ordering a new truck.

The truck got a full maintainence job from a dealer in Arizona before it got shipped back to Kansas, so we're all good there.

We've basically decided that since we have a high asking price for the truck, whoever buys it is going to keep it in good condition, which is what we want. If we dont get our asking price, its coming back to the farm for the rest of its life, or maybe become my weekend truck when I graduate college.

It's amazing to me that you got it back -- what a story that truck would tell if only it could talk.....

Glad to see you got it back. I say keep it. It looks pretty clean for a farm truck. What possesses people these days to think they can get away with stealing a truck?

Yep, five speed. Although first is useless except for towing heavy loads since the truck has plenty of torque and first is geared so low.
