Yes, it's possible to login even if you've been suspended... you just can't post anything.

I googled LadyROOT and AdminLady.

Seems that these user names are frequently used to infiltrate forums.

They then send 'official looking' PM's to forum members warning of a virus, and asking the member to click a link provided.

So -all the more reason they should be locked / deleted / removed outright.

Alex - I think everyone knows what a 'suspended' status looks like by now, lol -that don't make a whole lotta logic pie ....

...<snip>...

An account that is suspended is locked.
Cannot send PMs cannot post visitor messages, cannot post.

If the account is deleted, another try at creating it can be made ( the account is unused ).

You are suggesting the state that the account is in, you are just describing the actions for what the status suspended means.

BTW : if you notice those screen shots above, the account is logged into. If you are logged into an account when it is suspended, you are not automatically logged out. That is why the activity is shown as that day, but active.

i didnt do it

Thanks.

I still don't see why the account needs to remain visible, though. You have the account name, you have the other atttributes with which to deny access. Why continue to display these?

Your last point - in AdminLady's case, that account is actively & regularly being logged into/out of.

Seems to me the system is working fine at protecting the 'real' members.

As to why they are continued to display, hey, it keeps the site's numbers up as far as gross members, active members, logged in members, etc....

Advertising fees are probably in part set by these figures, so there is no incentive to sweep them clean/remove them.

Strictly speculation on my part, but it makes sense to me. Another possibility is there are technical challenges to making them 'invisible' and it's just not a priority.

The only comment I will make, since I know it to be the absolute factual information, is that I banned both AdminLady and LadyROOT. Any thing more than that, I might get wrong.
