Formal Dinning Room, Custom Double Doors. WARNING! PICTURE HEAVY!

Once upon a time I stared at this area and imagined arched double doors with some cool design on them.

So, when we did our major remodel a couple of years ago I took a final picture before tearing this area down.

Poof! Gone!

I then designed and built my own doors the way I had imagined them.

And fabricated my own decorative molding.

And began adding the color while the arches dried and cured after gluing'em together.

When they were dried and routed I installed'em and also added the color.

I then stood back and said to myself, myself, a couple of peac0cks, one on each door would look cool....hmmm......maybe add a tree branch and have the peac0cks rest on them.

Yeah! I like that.

So I went online and looked up peac0ck images and picked these four just to get an idea of what it would look like on the doors.

I preferred the first one and PSed it.

I then searched for tree branches and found these 4 images:

I preferred the last one and once again PSed it and removed the birds.

I then pasted the peac0cks on the branches and played with the images a lil by pasting them on the door image.

One facing the same direction

One facing each other

I then uploaded the peac0cks on the door picture and took it to the custom glass shop and presented my idea to the owner and operator. He was amazed and said I know exactly what you want I can definitely do it.

And so finally my vision in place!

The image is all carved glass not etched.

So at last I went from this:

To this:

Yes sir.

First the glass is cut to fit the door's design; then it was carved and finally sent to be tempered.

^^^ Didn't think you were, thought you were asking an honest question. Thanks for asking and thank you for your compliments.

One thing I may add though, I don't expect for everyone to write nice comments. I consider myself to be an effective communicator, 1 who understands the concept of constructive criticism and is open to receiving it.

^^^ I would love to, sounds like an awesome project but for one it is a long drive, so I would have to stay there for the length of the project. It wouldn't be a problem but the house I'm working at right now I'm re-staining the kitchen, bar, laundry and bathroom cabinets which I got 2 more week to go. Soon as I'm done I have compromised to do a complete remodel of his master bathroom.

Dunno if you've seen the project, if not here it is: https://www.f150online.com/forums/ge...g-go-boom.html

So what was the end cost? Give you credit for doing your own design.

Is there anything you create that doesn't turn out looking absolutely amazing?

First the truck, then the Library and now this awesome doorway.

Very nice job on everything.

The glass on the doors alone was 6K, doors approximately including frame and material about 5k, I'd say approximately 12K after all was said and done.
