Drove two f150's today

Went by the ford dealership looking around today and they were open so they had a 07 King Ranch Supercrew. I have never drove the 04-08 so i decided to take it for a spin. I liked the interior a little better than my 03 but other than that didnt seem all that good. It felt like my 03 had more acceleration than the 07,and it rode better than the 07. One thing i liked was it was a little quiter inside the cab. So i parked it and told the salesman id rather have my 03 then the 07.

So he showed me a 2011 KR stickered at 51k. Decided to take it for a spin, and honestly i wasnt too impressed with it either. The acceleration was pretty impressive and it was quite inside, but the ride was horrible. My 03 rides alot better than the 11 . Also didnt care for the seats in the 2011, they seem fake to me.

Anyway i decided that id rather have my 03 then any of the newer f150's.

Yeah you have a gem... please hold onto it

Either hold on to it, or give it to me. :D

These newer trucks don't seem as powerful as the 97-03's cause the drive by wire crap takes away the responsiveness but with that said my 04 hasn't lost to an older body style truck in a drag race. My co worker has an 03 optioned out just like my truck and we mess around with each other while leaving work sometimes. From a 20mph roll I leave him pretty quickly, a 60mph roll he will stay beside me most of the way but my truck will usually pull away slowly. The ride quality to me is better in my opinion with the 97-04 models but I think the increase in towing capacity is the contributing factor. If you're happy with your current truck then I wouldn't worry about upgrading. Im satisfied with mine but would like to upgrade sometime soon but at 114k miles its still running great.

I still think 2003 is by far the best year. I would know I have two of them :D

dang. i just drove my moms new 2010 supercrew xlt 4.6 3v with the 6 speed and its a great ride, SUPER QUIET, and wayyyyy faster then my 2v 4.6 with exhaust, intake and vmp tune. hopefully one day, i'll be able to line it up with a friend of mines 08 gmc with the 5.3 and 4l60.

I went from an 01' to a new 08' and traded it back in 2 years later for my current 03' if that tells you anything. Not saying these new trucks arent nice, just that I personally like the OBS a little better.

My brother has an '01 F150 and Ive got an '06 and I like mine alot more than his and Ive driven his a few times.
He's got the 4.6 and Ive got the 5.4 and his truck does seem a little quicker off the line though.

I prefer the looks of the '04-'08 over the '97-'03. I never cared much for that bodystyle, even when it came out for '97 and replaced the old square trucks.

Sure my truck is bone stock now. Except for tires and wheels. I even have the stock exhaust reinstalled on my truck.

17"s? whatever the stock size is.

I don't know what you guys are talking about, I have the best F150 out there. :coffee:

If they are 17's then the truck would ride alot better then the 20's

all i know, is that i love driving my 01 but wish it handled and took bumps like the '10.....maybe the 223k miles my truck has seen has taken its toll on my suspension! hahaha (just the other day i realized my sway bar end links on my truck, both sides were shot! bushings exploded and were done for! not to mention i need new shocks in the front horribly!)
