Last night's eclipse...

In case you missed it, there was a full lunar eclipse last night. It started out great, but then the clouds moved in.

Anybody else watch it or get pics?

Nope, you didn't miss it, it hadn't started yet! You were 2 minutes early. It started at 12:32am CST, hit full eclipse around 2:17am CST and was back to normal by about 4am.

Here are some awesome pics from another forum. Enjoy!

Rained ALL night here in sunny Southern California......Hooda-thunk!

ChrisT Dec 21, 2010 04:31 PM

Man, I missed out. Last night was COLD and clear here in Maryland. It would have been a perfect night to see it. I do recall being impressed with how bright the moon was last night. I live on a small river just off the Chesapeake Bay, the reflection coming off the river was very bright and impressive. Again, thanks for posting those. :beers:

What's even more impressive, is that the moon "flipped" (left to right) between pictures 1 and 2! ;)

Got to be something pretty strange going on in this eclipse.

I didn't notice this happening when we watched it. I must not be too observant.

I just went out tonight to see if it had flipped back, but it's too cloudy to see the moon here. Can anyone confirm that it's "recovered"?

All kidding aside, those are nice pictures. And, the eclipse itself was beautiful. Somewhere, I've misplaced my tripod, so my pictures were all blurry. You just can't handhold a camera steady enough for 1+ seconds, which I was trying to do.
