$160,000 Super Duty

I saw this on the cover of Diesel Power yesterday when I was with my boss getting wiper blades at Autozone. I didn't have time to read the magazine and the website article doesn't go into much detail about the truck. I really like the custom bed though. What do you guys think, would you ever pay $160,000 on a truck? I know I never would.

That's one hell of Super Duty some of the front end parts are made from parts off of 747 landing gear if I remember the article correctly. It looks pretty stock but it's has a ton of custom work done to it.

So what front end parts did the guy use 747 landing gear parts for?

Here is a copy of the article and it says that the wheel bolts were origanally for a 747.

Is that the full article online or does the one in the magazine explain more? I'm just really interested in finding out why its $160K.

No it's pretty much what was in the print copy I have. But the guy likes to over build things and he definetly went over kill on that truck.

Yeah, I was noticing how beefy those back tires were. Pretty impressive.

But, I wouldn't pay $40K for a Super Duty, let alone $160K.

That said, I'd love to have a black, F-350 Superduty, diesel dually, Lariat- with all the luxury trimmings. The only way I'd ever pay for it is if I won the lottery. As long as I'm working for it, that's too much $ for a truck. I'm sure they're more expensive than that. I saw a King Ranch F-250 four years ago that was $54,000, so they must be pushjing $60K by now.

I'm pretty sure the cryogenically-treated internals with 50lbs of boost have to do with it. Boeing's wheel lugs arent cheap, either

Anyone else think WTF? I've got dual 16-inch fans through a condenser and radiator of my tiny V6 and it just barely meets the CFM of the stock fan

I thought it said that it was built to withstand 54lbs boost but only capable of like 35lbs. What's the point, you know?

ya think if he wants to sell it for 160k he would remove the cheesy grill guard, billet grilles, and acetoned badges. and put the right powerstroke badges on it
