TV's......

looking for a new TV. last night we did our grocery shopping at walmart we ran across this:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Vizio-E420VO/13904834

looking at reviews:
http://thetvreview.com/vizio-e420vo-...d-hdtv-review/

and looking for prices, no one cant come close to the price. the reviews are good and the price is cheap. im wondering if you guys have had any experience with this TV? i read there is a light up display saying "vizio" right below the screen. im worried this might be kind of annoying? if you guys are into tv's and know a better product for about the same price please share. im not gonna spend alot of money since this is a bedroom TV. im betting no other TV (the same size) is gonna compare to this?

its just one of those things, we had a vizio at my work that was up outside under an awning for over 2 years, we moved shops so IDK what happened to that TV,

but, a friend of mine got a vizio and a few weeks later it stopped working, they warrantied it, stopped working again. got that warrantied too and last i know, the tv is still working.

also my sister got a small vizio tv and as soon as the warranty ran out, it stopped working.

both had the same problems, it would turn on, but no picture or sound

I've owned a couple Vizios (a 32" and a 37") and they have been great TVs. Just bought a new LG 47LD650 from Costco that is just awesome, for only $800, but they only sell them online, and the stock is spotty...sometimes they are available and sometimes not.

If I were you, I would wait a couple weeks until the Black Friday sales and then buy something. I have heard the sales are going to be super!

Good advice here!

I have a 3 year old 42" Vizio, no problems. The lit "Vizio" isn't particularly annoying, it's amber when it's off and white when it's on. My stepdaughter has 3 22" Vizios and they are also fine.

I have heard mixed reviews about Vizio. The majority have been good though. Black friday is a good time to look. I buy a lot of stuff then, awesome prices.

I resently picked up a 32" Panasonic Viera. So far do good. I didn't spend the extra bucks for the 1080. From what I read, for what I'm doing with the tv I don't need 1080. The 20" Sanyo that I bought about tewnty years ago when I had my first apartment is still working great. It takes up a lot of space though, and doesn't get all of the digital channels.

Someone told me shortly after buying the Panasonic that the prices on flat screens are supposed to drop significantly next year. I paid about 400 for mine. I wish I'd waited.

Yeah, I have heard that with less sales so far this year and a surplus of tvs that on or after black friday you will get a much better deal.

If you are willing to wait in the lines, black Friday can net you great deals on TVs.

Vizios aren't top of the line or anything. Depending on use they can be ok. You get what you pay for usually.

You could also look at tigerdirect.com. Sometimes they have stellar deals on TVs. Mostly refurbs or woot.com will have some steals.

I read an article about a month back that talked about a huge oversupply of TVs. Big price breaks towards the holidays.

That said, if you watch a lot of action/sports you may want to opt for the 120 hz at 42" instead of 60 hz.

Guess it depends on what your watchin' in the bedroom!:D

black friday...great point! im in no hurry as we have a 32" in the bedroom now. we dont watch much TV in the bedroom so its not a big deal. i have a panasonic 50" PX80U in the living room that is more than enough ATM. only reason i almost jumped on it was the price.

For the price Vizio's a good deal. I know several people who have them and have had good luck with them.

I bought a small Vizio TV for the city house when I was commuting back and forth. It's a 21" as I remember. It sits in the kitchen/breakfast area and the only time I watch TV is when I'm eating dinner. So far, it has the best picture of any TV I've ever seen. But, on mine, if you want to hook up surround sound, or any hook ups at all, it won't do it as it has nothing in the back except the plug for the antennae. I do have a friend that has one of their big ones but I'm not sure about the size- probably a 60+" TV and it's been great for them. Seems like they've had it for about 2 years and no problems...yet.
