Why isn't Everything Fixed Yet?

Now that the Republicans have control of the House, wheres the jobs? Why isn't the economy fixed yet? Why is there still a deficit? Why is there still a recession? Are Republicans secretly Muslim and trying to ruin the country?

Good God save us all, I'm going to stock up on my bibles and ammo in case things get worse, waaaaaaaaa...The end of times is near.

If you take a page from the Obama playbook then the republicans have to fix all the problems they 'inherited' from the party previously in power before they can do anything useful.

And we are probably going to be in a world of hurt with what the lame duck Congress is going to pass before January, when the Republicans actually take control of the House.

Im just pissed Washingtonians voted to keep state run liquor stores.....ridiculous

I don't see much happening unless they can all pull their heads out of their asses....I would like to see the health care bill get picked apart and do away with the bad and modify the good so it will actually help some people without bankrupting the nation....well, bankrupting the nation anymore then it is now.

Our nation was bankrupted long before Obama became president.

The funny thing is that people weren't worried about these deficits and the debt during the Reagan years which tripled the debt (went from 900 billion in 1980 to 2.8 trillion by 1989). Then under Bush Sr. the debt still was piling up even more. Finally under Clinton, he raised taxes on the wealthy, the economy started to heat up again and we actually had surpluses for the last two years of Clinton.

Bush Jr. took over and added more to the debt than all of the other presidents combined. It more than doubled to over 12 trillion dollars. It took them having to add another decimal point to the debt clock before people woke up and said the balance was getting kind of high.

Now don't get me wrong, Obama has added about 1.5 trillion in 22 months which isn't good but in reality it is on pace to be about the same as his predecessor. I don't see the difference. This isn't a defense of him but rather trying to understand the logic that it was acceptable for Bush to run up the bill but Obama is crucified for it.

Either way, it does need reigned in and we cannot let that keep growing. Otherwise we had better plan on learning Chinese and becoming a big province of China when they send the repo man over!!!

Stop it! Nobody from the right wants to listen to your so-called 'facts'.
It's difficult to tow the party line and keep the fear mongoring alive when people 'like you' come along and post all this factual nonsense.

Obama is a muslim Satanist and his kids are Satan's offspring and he is the reason for all the troubles in the world.

Is it Satan or Satin? I always get those 2 confused
I'll go with Satan, looks right to me.

On a serious note....Just suppose for a second that the American people were stupid enough to elect the McCain & the Idiotstick into power, who would they be blaming for the woes of the country today? Clinton??

Most people seem to forget that half of G dubs Presidency was controlled by a Democratic majority congress.

Sorry Drick...I have to call you on that one. The Republicans had control of both houses of Congress from 1994-2006.

The Democrats took over both houses of Congress in 2007 (2006 election) with huge gains based on an already faltering economy and disillusionment from the Bush wars.

So let's do some simple math here...I know it is hard for the right wing to do but we'll get through it together!!!!

4+4=8 8=total years of Bush Presidency

2007 to 2009 is a 2 year span

2/8=1/4 so the thought that G dub had to deal with a Democratic Congress for half of his presidency is false. He did have them for 1/4 of his 2 terms in office!!!!

Yep, you are forced to live in Canada, wishing you could live in the US.

Wow a 1/4 of his Two terms then.

I was alive when he was in office believe it or not.

And as I remember We still had jobs and welfare was under control. The last 2 years is about when it got out of control.

Someone posted this in another thread. I suggest you two take a good read

you do realize that recessions/depressions last for quite awhile usually and don't just happen overnight....The economy started to fail under Bush Jr no questions asked...even he admits it. Hence the first bailout package.

You can't sell someone who works at McDonalds a 400K house and expect them to make payments on the mortgage....it was a get rich scheme by banks who didn't even verify employment for some applicants (I know from friends who were former mortgage brokers), yet would charge a higher interest rate so the lender could get more money up front before the loan went under and then would be backed by PMI agencies...and the government.

And yes the budget was balanced under Clinton...but anyone could have been in office during his presidency and still had a surplus. The country was growing exponentially economically due to the .com's and internet business craze.

And I tend to lean more Democratic then Republican. I think a woman has a right to choose what happens with her own body and believe stem cell research is a HUGE opportunity for us as a human race.....theres something to swallow for our republican backing board members
