Exactly what I've said all along !!!!!!!
http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/20...n-heroin-crack
I don't do drugs. But if I did, I'd sooner smoke pot (again), as I find it to be less detrimental / dangerous than alcohol. I'm glad I'm not the only one who knows what a hard-core "DRUG" alcohol is ! Screw that crap ! It's a crying shame that prohibition didn't work. There. I feel better now :) Peace, Fish |

The motivation behind making drugs illegal was based upon racial bias.
Until the early 1900's, drug use was commonplace. People did opium, heroine, cocaine, and marijuana. Heck...there was cocaine in Coca Cola!!!! No wonder the original formula was so good!!! :) The whole "War on Drugs" has been a complete and utter failure. Prohibiting anything makes it more mystical and desirable. Prohibition of alcohol, drugs or any other thing is not the answer. Let people be free to make their own choices and suffer the consequences. You cannot legislate morality. You will fail every time. |

Prohibition of alcohol, drugs or any other thing is not the answer. But anyway, I don't do alcohol, because I hate it so much. I hate that if it had had enough time, it would have killed my father. Lung cancer beat alcohol to the punch. It nearly killed my best friend.... and as long as he's still alive, their will always be that chance. I hate being around people who have been drinking, who are often loud, belligerent, and moronic. I hate how it affects peoples judgment, which often leads to the safety of themselves, and even more importantly, innocent bystanders. I hate that it is such a hard-core drug, but yet because 1) so many people do it, and 2) it's legal, it has become socially acceptable. I hate the smell of it, the taste of it, and I really hate hangovers. ~~~~~~~~~~~ I don't smoke pot because I like it so much. If I smoked 1 joint today, I'd instantly be smoking it every day, spending way too much time and money on it.... eating way too much junk food, and watching way too many cartoons. I think for most people though, who are able to exercise some moderation... like only on weekends, or special occasions or such, pot is a much better choice than alcohol. It's just not for me, as moderation has no place in my vocabulary :) Oh, and BTW, it will make no difference to me whenever pot does finally become totally legal. I still won't smoke it. But at least they will stop wasting $millions trying to enforce a losing battle. And turning otherwise law abiding citizens into criminals. Anxious to see it, from that standpoint. Fish |

The reason they make that stuff illegal is because people make stupid choices while hopped up on whatever. For example, driving a car drunk. Are you going to be the only one suffering the consequence if you ram into a SUV with a full family in it. What if you kill the father who is the main bread winner for the family. I guess you're right, the fatherless children don't suffer. I know if you or anyone ever crashed into my car with my family in it and hurt any of them, you better believe I would rain hell on you. You would be suffering consequences until the cops arrived and pulled me off of you.
I agree with you on the fact that whether it is drugs, alcohol, prescription drugs, etc. it can be dangerous. It is unfortunate when people are maimed or killed by idiots that drive intoxicated. I rarely drink and don't do drugs. I would never drive intoxicated because the risk is too great. The problem is that making alcohol illegal or having drugs illegal just creates a black market for the stuff. Do you think we would have the gang problems today in the inner city and suburbia if drugs were legalized? They may get together as a means of family but they are fighting over turf (money). You would almost immediately eliminate the over crowding of jails and prisons if you legalized drugs and released those incarcerated for their use/sale. During prohibition people were making bathtub gin and getting prescriptions for rotgut alcohol from their doctors. I was watching one of those Locked Up shows and they were making liquor in prison!! They even said there was as many drugs in prison as on the streets. I wish I had a better answer because it isn't the intoxicated person that gets hurt in these accidents, it is the person they hit. |
Who cares...
While they're at it they should ban salt, sugar, tobacco, all medicine, chemicals, etc. All this stuff will kill you too and is worse or better than alcohol as well. I said so and I are smart. |

I wish I had a better answer Just every once in a while when I see something like the article I posted that link for, it gets me really fired up, and I have to say how much I despise alcohol, and everything about it ! Oh but just one more thing.... The term "drugs and alcohol" is flat rediculous ! That's like saying "cars and automobiles" ! ....and when people then say, "I don't do drugs, but I drink a little"..... Uhhhh.... excuse me ! Fish |
Who says you can't legislate morality?
Isn't that what a law is based off of? Murder, stealing, etc etc etc. |
Yea I read this in the newspaper this morning. I'm just glad that I don't do any of them. Never have and don't plan on it.
|
Pmason, your one of the few smart ones ! I sure wish I could say > never have !
Drugs, especially alcohol, are one of the few things in my earlier life that I regret. But being the hard-headed dum-bass that I am, I always had to learn everything the hard way ! Peace, Fish |
This shouldn't be news, it should be common knowledge.

There is little wrong with having a few every now and then, it can be relaxing and a good time. With that said many folks simply cannot and or will not stop until they are totally ****faced, falldown drunk and this is when i have issues with them. i like to be in control of my factuality's at all times and i will admit i have been a drunk azz in the past many years ago and high well... many time from some kick azz pot. I have a friend right now who is suffering the effects of being a drunk and his life is falling apart. I helped him the last time to get help but this time he wants no help. Drinking so much is never good but smoking a bud every now and again is okay in my book. I don't smoke any longer but man in the past i looked like a ole steam locomotive going uphill...... I say legalize it all over 21 and let the people decide..
