Got woken up this morning by a call telling me that one of my friends was in the hospital for a self inflicted gun shot wound to the stomach. An hour later the phone rang again saying she had passed away.

She had done attempts before (wrists), but it was always pushed off as a cry for attention. She was VERY dramatic and always posted the facebook/twitter status' that nearly ever teenage girl does (my life sucks, noone likes me, etc), but because those status' are all too popular, it was over looked. Three days ago she posted saying she wanted to end it all, but it was nothing out of the normal. I feel that if she hadnt cried wolf so many times, this could have been prevented. BUT, i think this was also a cry for help. She shot herself in the stomach, which leads me to believe that death wasnt her final goal. I just dont know.

My small town is all too familiar with the painful sting a death brings a community. In the past 6 years my school district has lost in excess of 10 students. 8 to car accidents (including my sister four years ago), 2 to four wheeler accidents, 1 who's cousin "dry fired" a pistol that was loaded, and now a suicide. My graduating class only had 150 kids. Everyone knows everybody. **** sucks man.

 

sometimes you just don't know what's going on in peoples' heads man. Things will get better with time and please do not take this the wrong way but in my opinion suicide is one of the most selfish things that one can do. Keep you head up bud

 

Oh I agree. Suicide is a cowards way out. Like I said earlier I have a feeling inside me that says this was a cry for help. But she just took it too far. She cried wolf SO many times that it was simply ignored and pushed aside.

 

Rough, man. A little unusual for a female to shoot themselves. They tend to like something less messy/disfiguring.
