how many americans do you know of that spend anywhere near $300 for a week for "food"...

3rd world countries tend to grow a lot more of their food than Americans, so their weekly food bill is a lot lower. Chad doesn't look like a very good place to grow anything, judging from the picture.

With breakfast, lunch and dinner I spend about $150 a week on average. That doesn't count any food my wife buys though.

Interesting, those from Japan and Chad are the only ones not smiling.

I say I spend about $500 a month on food. For my wife, myself and our 2.5 year old boy.

There's something to be said for that. Even if you eliminate the fast food, look at the other CRAP that is purchased.

Looks like the American mom can't cook. :coffee:

Hogwash!!!!! While I'm only buying food for two, we spend about $100 a month on average, on what we actually eat. We buy about 150-170 worth of groceries a month but things in the freezer will last till the following month. It's something called cooking, which apparently has gone to the way side with most american families. This is really sad. The majority of youth is being raised on fast food, and not learning how to cook. I can only imagine our society in another 50 years...going to be scary.

I'll admit, I don't know how to cook. But that's from pure laziness, not from fast food. I do a lot of experimenting and eating of my mistakes :ll:
