Nikon AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G

Well, I ordered myself a prime lens for my DX format camera... it's the 35mm 1.8G AF-S (which is going to mean a fast lens!)

Since it's going to be my birthday present, I'm forcing myself not to open it until the week after next.

But I'll take some snaps and post my take when I get to use it.

I always wanted to play with a fisheye lense, but never wanted to seperate with the cash, but now 35 just dino material. and the digitals I have don't have exchangeable lenses.

This lens should do that for you. With this lens you shouldnt need a flash too often either.

The 35mm prime is a necessity and I dont know why they didnt sell it as a kit.

Cool. I've been looking in to Macros. Don't want to shell out the money for the Nikon though. Looking at Sigma and Tamron. Not sure what I want yet.

What kind of camera do you have?

Nikon D90. I have the 50mm f1.8 and wish I would have gone with the 35mm. The 50mm is just a bit too close for indoor pictures. Next on my list is a macro and then a wide-angle (10.5mm).

mblouir, that is one that I am looking at. Also was looking at this one... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc..._f_2_8_Di.html . There's a longer Sigma I saw too that I was considering. Undecided.

Manual, I have a D80.

Bucky, what camera do you have? Was it with the Nikon 35mm 1.8 DX?

Nice pictures though! :D

What's the difference in this and just the 35mm that comes on the stock lens?

I'd love to get my hands on a wide angle lens. I just don't know where to start or what to look for.

Edit: Did a little looking around and found place where you can rent lenses so I'm about to go get a Canon EF-S 10-22mm F/3.5-4.5 USM and see what I can come up with. I'm actually hoping I won't like it because I really don't want to end up buying a lens that cost that much.
