Need help computer gurus

Somehow the program that controls the audio on my computer got deleted. Can someone please tell me where I can download another program to listen to audio on my computer again? I'm not sure how it happened but I have tried using the system restore in the control panel without any luck and I have tried a different set of speakers just to rule out that possibility. It's driving me insane not being able to hear the audio on youtube videos. Thanks!

first go to the control panel from start then device manager and then sound video and game controler and see if you have a question mark there then if no question mark see what you are using for sound then see if you can go to the website and download their drivers. Try updating driver for your sound. Also, in the control panel under sound make sure you have all the configuration settings correct for your setup. Its hard to help in this cituation and cant use remote access so good luck.

If you have no luck... download and install Realtek AC'97 drivers. This is a very popular audio driver...

If its a desktop you should still have the CD for the motherboard, the audio driver should be on there. If its a brand name like Dell etc... you should be able to go to their site enter either the model # or serial# and get the drivers from their support/drivers section.

I own a computer bussiness and the best way to do it is if it is name brand computer go to the the manufactuer website then go to support then enter your model number and download the sound driver. If it is a custom built machine then open the side up and read the model number on the motherboard and type that number into google and it will take you to the download site. Hope this helps
