I'm glad I drive a Ford

I saw the Dodgey picture some time back, but it was close-up from the other side. The middle aged guy was still sitting (if you could call it that) in the drivers seat looking straight down. Not a view I'd like to have. I don't think there are very many trucks that would buckle the frame the way that did. I saw one on the freeway one morning that was rear ended (not very bad at all) and yet it had buckled the frame at the cab like a twig. Scary weak!

no! if anything, Ford trucks were a lot stronger back then! I bet if you put a new F-150 versus an F-100 and do a head-on the F-150 wouls suffer more damage. Althought less safe, trucks were stronger back when they were made out of steel instead of plastic nowadays

Of course the F100 would win damage wise. F100s are to old to have crumple zones or any impact absorbing designs built in.
