I have to admit, that (please don't tell anyone) I agree with Obama on this one. A few interceptors at the border would do absolutely nothing to protect those countries if Russia decided to attack them. Gaining cooperation from Russia on the Iran problem is a much bigger priority. Someone gave O some good advice, and he took it for once.

I understand your reasoning, but the missles were not offered because of Russia. Only because of Iran, which makes me wonder why is Russia so adamantly against it. Are they still planning something?
Also if you read other stories, these countries are sorry this is not going to happen.

What would your city or town be like if there weren't law enforcement?

In his effort to appease nations around the world, our president is submitting, on behalf of the American people. I see it as putting our country in a very vulnerable position.

Generations of people were born and lived in this country while it was the strongest, freest of all countries. It's hard to believe that in our lifetime this could change, but it sure looks like that's whats happening.

People have complained that the USA has been policing the world. Well, that's in the process of being repealed. What will our world be like without any law enforcement?

This country was founded on some basic values and principals. The further we get from that which this country was founded upon, the weaker we've become. It appears that the tipping point may be near. I don't know if we can ever return, once we've shed those values and pricipals.

I guess you'll have to wait until 2012 for Sarah Palin to put the anti-missile missiles on the Czech border. She had said this Bush initiative would protect the entire Eastern front of NATO.

Of course, she already had the Western front covered because she could see it from her front yard.

Honestly, as of yet, I am not a big fan of Palin (except she is hot). Just not sure who I like for the Republicans in 2012, although I certainly think what we have now is no better than Carter in 76.

If anyone thinks that Russia is against Iran, they're wrong...

Russia hates Israel with a passion.

This country was founded on the principal of policing the world? :coffee:

I'm with Obama on this one. I'm tired of seeing our military used as the worlds' police force. I supported the Iraq war for the first 4-5 years, but it's time to bring our boys home.

The Democrats had Korea and Vietnam, and the Republicans have had Iraq. Let China assume the role of U.N. police force. They have 2.6 Trillion U.S. dollars in reserves. We don't.

Obama picked an interesting day to announce the news too. The 70th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Poland.

You might want to check those history books.

It was the Nazis who invaded Poland 70 years ago. :fyi:

You might want to check the history books. The Nazis invaded from the west, the Soviets invaded from the east at the same time. They split the country in 2 until Germany invaded the Soviets later.

Hell, every couple of years is some different anniversary of somebody invading Poland.

Switzerland had even drawn up invasion plans and all they had was a bunch of pocketknives.

Last time I checked, the US military wasn't an international police force.

And shame on you for saying that Sarah Palin is hot, shame on you

Why should I feel bad I about that. I too would also call Obama a liar.
