I'm Officially a Mechanical Engineer!!

Just finished up my senior design presentation on Friday morning, now all thats left to do is walk at the ceremony later this morning. I've got to say it a pretty good feeling. I just wish the job market was a little healthier right now. If your curious I graduated from the Missouri University of Science and Technology (MS&T) formely University of Missouri-Rolla (UMR). :beers:

Congratulations, that's awesome! I agree about the job market. I have a year left before my ME degree. I'm sure you'll land something awesome. Any plans lined up so far?

Look into the defence contractors, this war isn't going away anytime soon.

Congratulations! Lockheed is always hiring ME's, in locations all across the country. :)

Congratulations, that kind of degree will take you far as long as you crawl before you walk. Get a good foundation and work history (Through your internship) and youll go where you want to.

Thanks everyone!! I had something going with John Deere right before the hiring freezes, but that job never panned out. I actually have accepted a job with......TOYOTA.:lurk: Yes, I know. I would rather work for Ford or even GM who I internshiped with last summer, but we all know what their situations are. I just feel lucky and blessed to even have a job as many of my friends do not. Although I may be working for the competition I will not be getting out of a Ford truck.

Funny you say that...my school has a shirt you can buy with a train on the front that says, "Five years of school and they still won't let me drive the train!!" I should of gotten one.

If you'd consider relocating to Warner Robins GA you could probably find work. Robins AFB recruits Engineers quite often and plenty of defense companies here also.

Civil Service (govt) is probably not the most rewarding job but it is stable and with good benefits.
