Truck won't Start

Wierd problem here. I parked my 99 F150 for about ten minutes. When I went to restart it, it was completely dead. All lights and electronics worked fine. Just wouldn't start. Checked all fuses and fuel pump reset switch. Everything seemed okay. Had truck towed to local mechanic (wouldn't you know, 1000 miles out of warranty). Finally traced it to starter selonoid located on firewall, but the really wierd part is that now my remote door lock entry system is not working. Tried the two controls and nothing. My mechanic tried his control from his F150 and presto, his works on my truck. Any hints or clues to this issue?

Check the part # on it. I might have one I can give you.

It still works. I also had a problem where my truck wouldn't crank but everything else worked. I replaced starter, battery and starter relay. Turned out to be the battery cable going to the starter. It had corroded all the way through. The numbers on mine are f5tu-11450-aa and p6e 31 a1.

Well the issue has been resolved. Took truck to the dealer and they reprogrammed my remotes, and for free to boot.

Have a good one.

Dirty batt. terminals can cause the same symptoms. I've had it happen on a few vehicles, always seems to take me by surprise,lol...Would start just fine, then when you stop at a convienience store(or equiv.)it won't start when you come out,,,,98

If you take it and your keyless entry to the dealership, most people there can reprogram your pad (hand held part) in seconds. I had to do the same.
