It's a lot harder than you thought it would be I'll bet?

We usually take them out whole, unless it's next to impossible. A couple of guys, a good hand truck with a strap, and agility.

The few times that we've smashed a cast iron tub, I feel like it's going to break something in the structure and it makes one hell of a mess. Porcelain shards fly everywhere.

Ah its not that big of a deal. Of course I build homes and occasionally I have to redo stuff. Replaced a few tubs in my time.

ahhh man i feel ya, im in the middle of that myself, ive redon countless bathrooms, ive only had 1 yes just 1 that has come out easy, the rest of them, well, just get a BFH and clear your afternoon! im in the middle of making a 5x5 walk in closet into a 5x8 walk in shower, closet is on backside of what was a bathtub and bathroom, just makes it all the better when i knock a hole in the wall on the 4th bedroom and make it into my master closet! oh, and just a heads up, if youre gonna take that thing to the dump and make that drive, call the local recycle plant, see what cast iron is going for, i think i got like 15 bucks for the last tub i yanked out, its not much, but it paid for the gas money, and also, instead of unloading it by hand, they just grab it with a magnet, might as well get something out of working for it
