Smile Only beat me by 'that much'...

For all you racers out there who are always talking about 'truck lengths', I did a little math. Bob Churan graciously allowed me to put my heap next to his Lightning in his first run of the day. I was looking at the timeslip and his 13.399 1/4 is very close to my 13.617 at 1000 ft. In that 1320 (1/4) - 1000 = 320 ft and the trucks are about 17 ft long...
he only beat me by a little over 19 truck lengths.

The worst part was figuring out where to turn after the run by trying to remember where Bob had turned off.

So if you had a SuperCab, you wouldn't have gotten beat so bad, right? Or if his Lightning was a SuperCab he would have beat you by more........ah the hell with it!

Talking

Exellent point, seacrow.
(1/4) = 1320 ft.
19 'truck lengths' into 1320 = 69.47 ft.

The typical 18 wheeler is 70 ft long.
Now this makes me wonder how in the world I ever passed one on the highway.

This is harder than 3 guys buying a $29 pizza.

The answer is this:

Buy more beer until the point you forget what the question was in the first place.
