How do you remove a company logo off a truck?
I need to remove a decal off of a company truck. It's been on for 5 years. The last one I did I used a heat gun and a plastic putty knife and it still was a major pita. Anybody know any tricks for easy removal?
Thanks in advance |
Let it sit in sunlight for a while to heat the metal up. Then se the heat gun. Note: depending on color of truck, it's possible that there might be a difference in color because of sunlight causing the paint to fade over time. Hope it helps.

3M makes a woodgrain and sticker remover in a aerosol can that can be picked up at NAPA or any decent store that sells autobody supplies.

just go slow and get it nice and warm. i just used a hair dryer when i took my FX4 stickers off a couple weeks ago.

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to give the 3M stuff a try.
BTW 1st4x4, I've only seen the sun twice in the last 2 months  |
wd-40 works for stickers, i dunno about vinyl's though... worth a shot

aircraft remover will take it right off
and the paint |
What method would be best for me to remove the lame 4x4 stickers on the back sides of my lariat?

Let it sit in the sun and use a heatgun and your fingernail.
If that doesn't work, see if anyone has one of those "erasers" for decals (like an auto place) - they work wonders (used with a compressor) If that doesn't work, spray a little easy off oven cleaner on and in 10 secs it should melt off. (If you do this, make sure to clean the area well afterwards - I usually clay bar then wax as that crap is harsh) Just a few thoughts :coffee: |
My suggestion is to try a hair dryer, not a heat gun. If not used very carefully a heat gun can burn the paint. A hair dryer and some plastic razor blades should allow you to remove the vinyl.
Whatever you do, don't use ANY oven cleaner on your paint. |
