Love that black grille, kinda made me think it was an Extended Lightning https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif

Hey Thunder, did you paint the grill, powdercoat it, or leave it bleyver?
|
It came from the factory in that notorious shade of bley/grack. It's going back to the dealer to be painted flat black while the bumper, which arrived in the perfect-shade-for-the-grille flat black will be painted black clearcoat, the same as the rest of the truck.

How about a rundown on the Pirelli P-Zero tires. How do they ride? Are they a hard rough tire and are they noisy? Compared to the originals.
I'm thinking of adding the Lightning wheels with either Pirelli, Michelin Pilots or Bridgestone H/P in 285/60/18 size. I just lowered the front with Eibach springs. Now I want to fill up the wheelwell. |
KS,
The thing with plus sizing tires and wheels is getting larger diameter replacements while maintaining overall diameter. If you go from a 17 to and 18 wheel and retain the same tire profile and thereby "filling up" the wheelwell, your speedo readings and effective axle ratio will change. Not good. The only way to seemingly fill it up is to lower the truck tro decrease the space between the bottom of the outer well and the tire. With regard to the Pirelli's, they ride a lot better, have better grip and are quieter than the stock tires. The ride does firm up a bit. Drastically improved both wet and dry handling. I highly recommend them. [This message has been edited by Thunder (edited 02-25-2000).] |
