Question Most Common F150 Problems?

What are the top and most common f150 problems? So far, it seems to be piston slap and door cracks.
What are the other big problems that i should know about and check before my warranty runs out?

It seems there are really 4 common problems:

1) 97-early 99: Piston slap in the 5.4's and just a few 4.6L engines. This problem seems to have been fixed for mid year 99's and 2000's.
2) 97-99 rear sliding window - leaking. New design for the 2000's.
3) 97-99 Roof cracks in the water channel. There is a fix for 2000.
4) 97-99 and probably the 2000's for the door cracks.

Some have had a few other problems...rough idle, pitman arm failure, a few oil leaks and some have mentioned their disk brake pads wearing rather fast....but no where near as common as the first four.

I have only experienced the roof cracking in my 98 F-150..before I traded it in.

Thumbs down

Yeah, I have that rear window leak! One thing about the Y2ks I dont like. The rear seat flips up instead of down.

Cool

How about the shakey drivers mirror, My dealer says it's because of my bug shield. Gonna take it off this spring and prove it does it anyway.

fast46--

I did not like the fold up seats at first in the 2000..but they are very nice since I have gotten use to them.

I think the dealers are replacing the leaking sliders with the *new* Y2K sliding rear window. So far..no leaks.
