Mine's a keeper; door crack, open 3.08 diff, squeaks, groans, rattles, and all. I guess I like a truck with a little personality.

I like to entertain the thought that someday waaaaaaay in the future, these trucks will be true classics, and I can lay claim to bein an original owner of such a ride. If it'll last twenty-five years, it ought to be a classic!

And there's no way in a frozen hell that I could justify a trade...not with the wife just getting her Expedition and just two years left on my own loan.

Mostly, I just like what I have.

Food for thought( which I am sure you already know)...and part of the reason why I decided to trade mine "up".. when I traded my 98 F-150 in for my 2000 F-150..I only paid sales tax on the difference in value..which was only $4,300 x .07% = $301.00! Not bad for a NEW 2000 truck! (I loaded the new truck with a few goodies this go around)
I received the trade in value PLUS $1,300 in tax savings on an almost 2 year old truck.
Both the 1998 and the 2000 were purchased right at dealer invoice from the same dealership.
They will make some $$$ by selling the 98 at retail and they received almost $800.00 from the dealer holdback on the 2000..so it was a win - win deal.
Also, the APR offered by FORD right now until 1/06/2000 is lower than it was last year (5.90% for 60 months..4.8% for 48 months)...I reduced my monthly payments by $35.00 per month for a much better truck $339.52/month)
