Hey guys and gals, I was wondering if anyone knew how I could get a U.S. flag flown in Iraq in memory of a friend that I was stationed with in the Marine Corps. He was K.I.A. in Iraq in 2005. I tried searching the internet but I didnt kind anything useful. Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Never been to Iraq, so I don't know if the same is true...but I was in Bahrain and I remember the only day the flag was flown on base was the 4th of July..

I know you can buy a flag flown at the Capitol:

Maybe start there and see if they have info about getting one flown in other locations. Looks like you have to contact your states senator..

Sure...no problem...keep in mind certain dates have a long waiting list, Sept 11th, 4th of July, 7th of Dec...etc..

i thought it was pretty much illegal to fly the flag over another country unless it has been taken over and since colonization is now a no-no...

 

Not sure. I saw one last week that said "flown over Iraq in memory of..."

 

I can get you a U.S. flag flown over Afghanistan, on a comabt sortie, get a real nice certificate to go with the flag.

 

do you need it ASAP? i am going back to kuwait for 6 months in december. i will be doing missions into Iraq while i am there. if you cant find anything by then i will hook you up and take a flag on one for your buddy. will come with a certificate too.
