Men's Wedding Rings - What is yours made out of?

Hey Guys,

We're getting closer to our wedding and it's time to pick out my ring. Unfortunately it looks like all the precious metals in the commodities market have yet to recede from the levels they sky rocketed to in December. Thank goodness I purchase her platinum ring before the prices jumped up over $1,000 per gram in late December.

My question is this, what do those of you who are married have your rings made out of?

I was looking at platinum but the prices are just too steep so now I'm looking at Palladium because it's cheaper, looks like Platinum and can be resized. I was thinking about Tungsten but found out they cannot be resized. The jewelers said you can just "trade it in" on a new size but I'm a little old fashioned and want the rings that are blessed at our wedding to be the rings we wear for the rest of our lives.

Thanks,

Duke

Mine is 10k gold. Already had it re-sized once and it needs it again.

We got the pair for $39 so, I guess that would have been about $19 each.
I don't know about todays market, haven't priced wedding rings in over 30 years.

14K gold with 7 diamonds in a channel.

14k yellow gold, wide band. I think it was about $70 in 1962. Been stretched twice.

Thanks for the humor guys with the exception of Norm and Raoul.

Holy cow Raoul, that is a crazy low price for gold rings. Though I'm assuming you bought those back in the 20's? (just kidding)

It's looking more like Palladium so far.

We went to a place called 'Best Products' it has since gone out of business.
We bought the cheapest ones in the display case.

From what I understand 10K gold is(was) a lot cheaper than 14k gold, this was back in '77.

Common trend I've seen for a lot of guys.

While my goal is to never gain weight and stay in shape my entire life, I'm not 100% sure that will happen and my finger size not grow, so I'm shooting for something that can be resized.

Yeah it is still. It is also better on my list because it's stronger then 14K gold which would be nice to have (strength) for a men's ring. My only thing is that I'm looking for a whiter metal and white gold would need to be redipped or rhodium plated once a year apparently. Thus the reason I looked at platinum but those rings are over $2,800 which is a bit ridiculous in my opinion.

I wanted to gain. I was 6' 2" and 160 lbs! I like 220 much better!

I really don't wear jewelry, a $2,800 ring would make me nervous. I think it was all about her seeing it on my finger.
When I could afford it 10 or 15 years later, I got her a big rock to make up for it.

Must have been at least 1/8th carrot.

14k gold. I think it was around $100 back in 97. My wife's cousin makes jewelry so he made it for me.
