I remember seeing that ad when it was first in circulation. But yes, cool as hell.

i think it was earlier than the 80s. i remember that commercial from when i was a little kid in the 70s. i remember the "twin I beam suspension" from the commercial as well.

There are a couple of them, the one I saw looked like it was shortly after color tv came out. For the way that the truck are rocking the one in the back about has to be made of fiberglass. I think it was in the daylight in a desert type enviroment.

The shot of the Ford hauling the small Chevy truck across the bed is something to be seen. Not to mention over a very rough rocky trail. I'm sure it was a 1/2 ton, short bed, 2wd chevy with a V6, probably with the engine and trans. removed but still very good marketing. Looks like the orginal ad appeared in the mid 80's some time.

Based on how the truck is balanced left to right. Also looks like shiny headers just behind the front tire. ive never seen that clip with the 80s trucks. Thats not the clip theyre usin on the new commercials now. Btw is it the same for anyone elses ford commercials, in the new "Have you driven a ford lately" commercials where they cycle through all the models, they show every new model, and an 05-07 superduty, :confused: what were they thinkin?
