Thieves stealing catalytic converters.

Title says it all. They steal and they sell them at salvage yards for the platinum inside. One guy had his stolen off his Tundra and it cost $3000 to repair! What an idiot!

I wonder how much they are getting for these. They can't be that much. I guess thats what insurance is for.

I bet they'd get a quite a bit if they're fairly new. Go price a set of factory converters from a dealership...you will be amazed how much they are.

We had a rash of thefts here. They got 15 cars before we caught em. They had the warm cordless sawzall and 4 cats in the trunk and one officer saw one of the guys under a toyota pickup. They both said "We didn't do it" lol

It happens quite often here in Maryland. It was big news about 2 years ago, now you don't hear about it as often. The local news here in MD said that the Toyota Tundra was the main target. I wonder why that is?

3 Grand for a CC??? Boy, that's another good reason to buy a Jap made vehicle, parts are cheap LOL

I had a CC go out in my old Dodge truck (don't ask) about 4 years ago and it was only $650 dollars to replace. Not unless inflation for things really have gone up that much in a few years, but 3 grand is ridiculous!

There's quite a market for stolen airbags too.
