It's New Years Eve...

And everyone knows there's gonna be a lot of nuts out there on the roads tonight. Please be careful everyone, I may disagree with some of y'all around here, but I don't wanna see anything bad happen to anyone. And if you're out partying and drinking, get someone sober to do the driving, okay?

A story I read on Foxnews.com this morning...

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,319165,00.html

TOLEDO, Ohio — Five members of a Maryland family were killed late Sunday when a pickup truck driven by an alleged drunk driver slammed into their minivan, MyFOXToledo.com reports.

Bethany Griffin, 36, and her daughters — Jordan Griffin, 10, Haley Burkman, 10, Lacie Burkman, 7, and Vadi Griffin, 6 months — were killed when the pickup hit their vehicle on Interstate-280, just north of downtown Toledo.

Click here for more from MyFOXToledo.com.

The family's father, Danny Griffin, and two other children survived, the station reports.

Michael Gagnon, 24, of Adrian, Mich., was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of I-280 when his black Ford F350 collided with the Griffins' white Chevy Astro minivan, MyFOXToledo.com reports.

"It was among the worst I've seen," Assistant Fire Chief Luis Santiago said of the crash scene. Bits of gift wrap and toys were strewn about the highway, suggesting the minivan was carrying members of a family heading home from visiting relatives for the holidays, he added.

Griffin and the two other children from the minivan were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, Santiago said. The driver of the pickup also was taken to a hospital, but his injuries did not appear as serious.

The accident occurred around 11 p.m. when the minivan, traveling in the southbound lanes on Interstate 280 near the I-75 interchange, collided with the truck, going in the opposite direction, Santiago said.

I've had 2 Cousins and a good friend who were all very dear to me taken by drunk drivers. I've lost another friend while driving drunk and one critically injured.

Sure have fun but think before you get behind the wheel or put that first cup to your lip. Have a plan!

More than likely I'm not even going to drink this year. Going to a buddies house about 20 minutes south. I don't even have plates on my truck yet, I don't need any other reason to get pulled over tonight.
