So, you're the coach of the Patriots...

Scenario: (Hypothetically, of course...)

You're New England's head coach. You're 15 - 0 going into the last game of the season.

Playoffs are locked, you got a 1st round bye, and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Do you play your starters in that meaningless game at a chance to go 16 - 0, or do you rest them for the playoff run?

Why would you play your starters?

Why wouldn't you play your starters?

Would you let them play the whole game?

Let them play. Let them play the whole game.

They get paid to play so thats what they will do.

Any good player and coach will tell you that playoffs mean more than records. I'd say play starters part of the game.

If you're really that ignorant to think that they are the only ones who do it than there is no help for you Dave.

I'd say play them and risk the injuries. I'd play them until the game was in hand and then rest them.

Think about it, who won the super bowl 13 years ago? You don't know unless it was your team. Why? Because there is a new one every year.

Now everyone remembers those freakin' Dolphins because they were perfect.

I'd go for true history and try and win it all. If they don't win the Super Bowl it will suck but they would still have been undefeated and be talked about much much longer than just this year's champs.

I'll offer up this statistic as to what is going to happen.

56-10
52-7
49-28
48-27
38-7
38-14
38-14
34-13
34-17

...and yet, New England is second in the LEAGUE for 4th down attempts.

Is there any doubt the starters play 60?

Let's not forget the 28 - 24 photo finish last night, that almost ended in a Tenessee Titan fashion, 1 yard from the goal line.

My point was running up those scores and the numerous unnecessary 4th down plays would indicate that the dogs will not be called off for the full season.

Somebody is pissed about getting fined and is going to make the other sideline pay dearly. It reeks of buddy ryan. (i.e. Cunningham taking a knee)

The pats are already starting to let up. They had better start playing their game again or someone will beat them. Heck, just look at Randy Moss's performances the last couple of games. His numbers went down and so did the margain of victory.

My $0.02.

My prediction... no need to worry about making it to 15-0. The Dolphins will avenge their brothern from the 1972 squad and beat the Pats in a photo finish on December 23rd.
