I went to an 80's party in college (around 96 or so), and sported the Miami Vice look. I went to a Thrift store, they are loaded with 80's clothes. Just make sure to wash them before you put them on.

Formal:

I rocked a full bright Pink suit, with a solid black t-Shirt underneath, tucked in. I wore loafers with no socks, and rolled the sleeve's half way up my forearms. Make sure you find a BIG pair of sunglasses to accent the look.

I was actually going to have a white T-Shirt made to wear underneath and have it say "Oh Snap" or "Radical". But never had time to get it done. The solid black one worked though.

Alternatively,

Stone or acid washed jeans, make sure the are "pegged" (or rolled), try to find a Whitesnake, Poison, or any other 80's band T-shirt. A Hypercolor T-shirt would be GREAT though if you can find one. Tie a bandana around your leg and maybe even a wrist band or a head band.

Post some pics of your duds once you decide what you are wearing. I love themed parties, they are so much fun.
