CC'ing on e-mails grrrrrrrrr

I swear some people are just natural born snitches! I hate when I get an e-mail and I see that it has been copied to not only my boss but the damn President of the company! Really it doesnt need to go to anyone but me but they insist on sending it to a lot of people. I technically could pass the blame and CC my response also but I am better than that and dont rat on people. Sorry had to vent.

What's even worse is the BCC. The most devious use of this is to send the e-mail, CC a few that you are sure will stay on and then BCC the people who need to know but if included will drastically change the response. This way the sender replies with a nasty-gram and hangs himself.

Said snitch probably got offended by one of your posts on this site and felt it was their duty to let "The Man" know what kind of quality employees he has.

Actually, where I work, if you send an email to allusers and it is not meant for everyone, you can lose your job quick. :(

Only rule for emails:

If you are sending an email, assume the entire world is getting it, then you are never surprised.

More and more companies are employing severe anti-spam rules.

The most devious of all inter office Email scams is that pesky forward button.
Because then you can edit the original exchange as needed or desired. Delete parts you said, add to parts they said......and they are non the wiser unless or until they are confronted about it out of the blue.

ETA
Not that I've ever burned anyone in such a manner before or anything........

True. I've typed up many emails, read them back to myslef then decided to call on the phone or walk over and say it face to face. It's always safer to do it that way.

Maybe email is another window to the soul.

That would be PURE evil.

It's probably SOP in North Korea.

Over there I wouldn't be surprised if you got the firing squad for a misinterpreted email.

Sometimes you have to CC stuff.

My wife can't get tech. to fix her TV, so her boss said to CC all E-Mails to him so he can see what is going on.:coffee:

Happens to me with the girl who sits in the next office.... "Seriously" I tell her sometimes "Im like 7 feet away, and besides emailing me you decided to CC my superior to advise them that you emailed me..... your an idiot and expect them to recieve a CC of me completing my task."

Then i usually kick her in the vag and walk away...:coffee:

it's all about cya (cover your ass) it only took one time for a bitch i was working with to say, "why did you do that??!!" uh, because you told me to. "no i didn't!!" emailing and cc'ing became a way of life for me after that...my boss was always on my side, but cc'ing just lets other people know what's going on incase something happened...it has saved my ass many times.
